Krishna Trading Co. is right on the ground floor of Anand Cloth Market, near the Sarangpur Gate. If you’ve ever been to the cloth market, you know how packed it gets. It’s a maze of shops and rolls of fabric everywhere. We are at No. 43. It’s a small shop, but we’ve got it filled from floor to ceiling with stock. We spend our days talking to suppliers and customers who come in looking for specific materials. It’s loud, and there’s always someone drinking tea nearby. We don’t have a corporate strategy. We just try to buy at a good price and sell at a fair one. The market has its own rhythm, and we’ve been part of it for years. Sometimes the power goes out in the whole block and we just sit outside and chat with the neighbors until it comes back. It’s not the most organized place in the world, but we know where everything is. We don’t use fancy software to track things; a lot of it is still in our notebooks. It’s a traditional way of doing business, and it works for us. If you’re at Sarangpur Gate, we’re just a short walk away. Come in, have a seat if there’s a stool free, and we can talk about whatever you need. It is always a bit chaotic but we like it.
