Surindra Engineering Co.

The workshop at Plot No. 559, Ph.-Ii is where we spend most of our daylight hours. Surindra Engineering Co. has been operating out of this specific spot for a good while, and the walls show it. There is grease on some of the benches and the floor isn't exactly level in the back corner. We get started early, usually before the sun is really up, just to get a head start on the heat. It gets pretty stuffy in here during the summer months. People know where we are because of the big gate that sometimes sticks when it rains. We don't have a fancy reception area or anyone to bring you tea in a porcelain cup. Usually, you’ll find one of us under a machine or sorting through parts in the bins. The neighborhood around Phase II is mostly industrial, so it’s noisy throughout the day with trucks coming and going. Sometimes the power flickers, but we just keep at it. It’s a practical place for practical work. We’ve got a couple of old fans that rattle a bit, but they do the job. The tools are mostly hand-me-downs or things we’ve bought over decades. We don't change things just for the sake of looking new. If a workbench still holds weight, we use it. That’s just how it goes here. It’s not a showroom, just a place where things get made and fixed day after day.
