Steelcon Engineers

Steelcon Engineers is located at 509 in Phase II of the GIDC in Vatva. We’re right near the Vinzol railway crossing, so we hear the trains going by all day long. It’s a steady rumble that you eventually stop noticing. Being in the industrial estate means we’re surrounded by other workshops and factories. It’s a gritty place, but it’s where the real work happens. Our shed is usually full of raw materials and half-finished projects. It gets quite loud when the cutting and welding starts. The floors are concrete and usually have some scrap metal lying around. We’ve been here in Vatva for a good bit now. Most of the people working here have grease under their fingernails and don't mind the heat of the shop. We don’t have an air-conditioned office or anything like that. Just some desks in the corner where we track the orders. The dust from the road outside comes in through the big doors, so we’re always sweeping up. It’s a practical setup for the type of heavy work we do every day. We handle the engineering stuff as it comes. When the railway crossing gate goes down, things get backed up on the road, but that’s just life near Vinzol. We just keep our heads down and get the steel work finished for whoever needs it, then we pack up and head home to do it all again tomorrow.
