We’ve been running Somabhai Tea Processors for quite some time now over in Ellisbridge. Our place is on the first floor of the Akashganga building, specifically at 103, right on Gujarat College Hostel Road. If you know where Dr. Munshi’s clinic is, we are just near there. It’s a busy part of town, but we like being here. Handling tea is what we do every day. We spend most of our mornings checking the leaves and getting the processing done right so it is ready for whoever needs it. It isn't a fancy setup, just a practical space where the work happens. Sometimes the machines get a bit loud, and there’s always a bit of dust around, but that is just how tea work goes. Most of us here have been doing this for years, so we kind of know the smell of a good batch just by walking in the door. We aren’t really into big speeches or fancy ads. We just focus on the bags and the boxes leaving the warehouse on time. People in the neighborhood might see our trucks moving in and out near the hostel road throughout the week. It’s a steady rhythm. We keep things pretty simple around the office. If you ever stop by the Akashganga building, you’ll find us busy with the sorting and packing. It’s just honest work, keeping the tea moving from the processors to the cups. Nothing more to it than that, really.
