Smart Controls

Down in Vatva, specifically in Ph-3 of the GIDC, you will find us at Smart Controls. Our place is B-46/1 in the Karnavati Industrial Estate, which is on Plot No. 1602-02. It is a massive area, and if you aren’t careful, you can get lost in the numbered lanes. We spend most of our time here dealing with different control units and electrical parts. The workshop isn’t anything fancy to look at, just plenty of tools and parts scattered where they are needed most. We have been in this part of Ahmedabad for a long time, watching other factories come and go. The dust from the road always finds its way inside, so we are constantly wiping down the desks. It gets really hot in the middle of the day, and the tin roof doesn’t help much, but we have our routine. We usually take turns getting snacks from the little stall at the corner of the estate. There’s no big corporate hierarchy here; we all just pitch in where it's needed. Sometimes a customer comes by with a part they need looking at, and we just clear a bit of space on the table to talk. It is just a regular engineering shop doing its bit in a very busy industrial zone. We don't spend much time on decorations because there's always something more important to finish on the floor.
