Shree Shankar Rice Mill

Our place, Shree Shankar Rice Mill, is located over at Plot No 207/208 in the Jetalpur area of Aslali. If you know where the Prakash Petrol Pump is, we are right behind it. It is a bit tucked away, which is actually nice because it stays a little quieter than the main road. We have two plots joined together so there is enough space for the storage and the milling units. It’s an honest setup. We’ve worked here for years, through the hot summers and the rainy months. The dampness in Aslali can be a bit much for the grain, so we have to be careful about how we store things. We aren't a big company with a lot of rules. We just show up, start the machines, and get to work. Most of our day is spent checking the quality of the rice and making sure the bags are stitched tight. We have a small crew of workers who live nearby. Sometimes we have a bit of a laugh during our breaks, sitting on the empty sacks. The smell of raw rice is something you never quite lose. We don't bother with fancy slogans. We just want to get the milling done right so we can go home to our families at the end of the day. It is a practical business. Being behind the petrol pump makes it easy for the trucks to refuel after they drop off their loads at our gate. It works out for everyone.
