Shree Shakti Vijay Engineering Works

Down here at Shree Shakti Vijay Engineering Works, things are usually pretty loud throughout the day. We are located in the Bharatkhand Cotton Mills Compound, which is an old-school industrial spot near the Amdupura bus stop in Asarva. If you are looking for us, you just head past the main gate and look for S.J. Jamadar’s Block. Our shop isn’t much to look at from the outside, but inside we have our machines set up and we spend most of our daylight hours fixing things or making parts. There is always a smell of oil and metal in the air, which I guess you just get used to after a few years of working here. It is dusty work, and our clothes usually end up with a few grease stains by lunchtime. We don’t have a marketing team or anyone sitting in a suit. It is just us doing the mechanical work that needs doing. Sometimes the machines act up or the power fluctuates, and we have to figure it out on the fly. That is just part of the job when you work in an engineering shed like this one. We take our tea breaks when we can and talk about the work for the next day. It is a straightforward life. We focus on the metal and the measurements. People come to us because we have been in this compound for a long time and they know we just get on with the job.
