Shivlal Gahlot

Our place is at 1441, New Madhupura, which is right near Delhi Darwaja. It’s a very old part of the city, so the lanes are quite narrow and always full of people. Shivlal Gahlot has been here for quite some time now. Working near Delhi Darwaja means it’s never quiet. You hear the scooters and the shouting of vendors all day long. The building is old, and the stairs are a bit steep, but we like it here. It has a bit of character. We don't really have a big staff, just a few of us who know how things run. We open up the shutters in the morning and start going through what needs to be done. Most of our neighbors are also in trade, so we see the same faces every day. It’s a tight-knit community in New Madhupura. Sometimes it’s hard for big trucks to get through, so we have to manage with smaller carts. We don’t bother with much decoration or fancy furniture. It’s a place of work, plain and simple. If you are looking for us, just head towards Delhi Darwaja and ask around, someone will point you to 1441. We don’t have a website or anything like that, just this physical spot. We handle our business, talk to the regulars, and go home when the sun sets. It’s a simple life in a busy market.
