Jay Engineering Works

Jay Engineering Works is located at 24 Shayona Estate. We are right on Dhudeshwar Road in Shahibaug, just opposite the Vadilal Ice Cream Factory. That factory is a good landmark because everyone knows where it is. Our place is part of the estate, so there are other businesses around us doing all sorts of industrial work. We have a lot of machines here that make quite a bit of noise throughout the day. It’s a workshop environment, so there is oil and metal shavings on the floor most of the time. We don't wear suits; we wear clothes that we don't mind getting dirty. Dealing with engineering means we are constantly measuring things and making sure the parts fit together. Some days things go smoothly, and other days a machine breaks down and we spend the whole afternoon fixing it. Shahibaug is a busy area, and Dhudeshwar Road sees a lot of trucks coming and going. We’ve been at this spot for a long time. The office is just a small corner partitioned off from the main workshop. It's where we keep the ledgers and take the orders. We aren't trying to be anything fancy; we just do the engineering work that people need from us. It gets hot in the summer with all the machines running, but we just keep the fans going and stay busy. If you come by, you'll probably hear the sound of lathes and drills before you even see the door. It's a loud place, but we are used to the noise.
