Our shop is tucked away in Satyam Corporate Square, right behind the Rajpath Club. It’s a decent spot, though finding a parking space can be a real headache some mornings. We spend most of our time dealing with engineering drawings and metal pieces that need a lot of attention. There’s always a faint smell of oil and burnt metal in the air here. It isn’t the quietest place to work because of the machines running, but we’ve gotten used to it over the years. Some days things go smoothly and other days a machine breaks down right when we have a deadline. That’s just life at Sai Engineering. Being the biggest firm in town isn't the goal, we just want to get the orders out right. The tea stall nearby gets a lot of business from us because a break is needed every few hours. It’s mostly just a handful of us working together, trying to figure out the best way to cut or join something. Sometimes an argument breaks out over a measurement, but we usually figure it out before the day ends. It’s not a polished corporate life, and our hands are rarely clean. We just show up, do the engineering work, and go home to our families. It’s simple and it works for us. Since we've been in this building for a while, the neighbors know us by now.
