Sacmi Engineering India Pvt. Ltd. is located right on the highway that connects Changodar and Rajkot. It’s a big, open stretch of road with lots of trucks and heavy vehicles passing by all the time. Being on the highway means we get a lot of dust, but it’s great for getting equipment in and out. Our facility is a large one, mostly taken up by the engineering side of things. It’s a loud place most days. There’s always some fabrication or assembly happening. We have a small office section where the paperwork gets handled, but the real heart of the place is the floor. The sun really beats down on the highway during the day, so it gets hot. We’ve got a team of people who have been doing this for years. They know the machines inside and out. It’s not the kind of place where you wear a suit. We’re usually in work clothes or overalls, covered in a bit of grease by the end of the shift. We don't do much in the way of fancy presentations. If someone wants to see what we do, we just walk them out to the floor and show them. It’s honest work. The commute can be long for some of us, but we’re used to the drive. It’s just how it is working out here in Changodar. We mostly eat lunch at our desks or out in the shade if it’s not too dusty.
