Tejendra Estate is a busy place, and we’re right here at office number 38. If you’re standing opposite C.M.C. in Odhav, you’re basically there. This shop is all about metal and machines. There is always a smell of cutting oil and grease in the air, which is just part of the job. We spend most of the day at the lathes or dealing with parts that people bring in from the nearby factories. It gets loud when the work is in full swing. We don't have a big reception area or shiny furniture. Just a couple of desks covered in blueprints and spare parts. Most of the time, the floor is covered in metal shavings because we are constantly working on something new. Odhav is an industrial area, so there is never a shortage of stuff that needs fixing or making. We’ve been in this estate for quite a few years now. People know us for being practical. We don't use fancy talk; we just look at the piece of equipment and tell you if it can be repaired or if you need a new one. Sometimes the work is slow and we just sit outside for a bit of air. Other days, we are here late into the night trying to finish a job for a client who needs their machine running by morning. It's a living, and we just keep at it every day. It's dusty work, but we are used to it by now.
