Running Saraswati Ice Factory at Plot No. C-1B/3505 in Phase-4, GIDC, Vatva is definitely a specific kind of life. When you work with ice, you’re always thinking about the temperature and the timing. Our place in Vatva stays pretty cold inside, which is a nice break from the heat outside in the industrial estate. We spend our days managing the machines and making sure the blocks are ready when the trucks show up. It’s a lot of heavy lifting and moving things around. We don’t have a fancy corporate structure here. It’s mostly just a few of us who know how the plant runs and what needs to happen if a pipe leaks or a motor starts acting up. We’ve been at this location for some time now. People in the area know us because they see our delivery vehicles moving through Phase-4. It isn't a glamorous job, and your hands are almost always cold or wet, but it’s steady work. We try to keep the place as clean as we can, though with all the water and movement, it’s a constant battle. Most of our customers are locals who need ice for their own businesses or for transport. We don't spend time on big ads. We just make the ice, load the trucks, and start again the next day. It's a simple cycle that works for us and keeps the bills paid at the end of every month.
