Unisteel Engineering Works

Out here in Phase-1 of GIDC, Vatva, things are always a bit dusty and loud. Unisteel Engineering Works is located at Plot No. 79/B, and if you walk by, you’ll likely hear the sound of metal being cut or welded throughout the afternoon. It’s not a quiet office job at all. We spend most of our hours on the shop floor dealing with whatever project is currently on the bench or waiting for assembly. The air smells like grease and burnt iron most of the time, which is just how an engineering workshop should be, honestly. We have been at this address for a long time, and we know most of the guys in the neighboring plots. It’s a tight-knit industrial area where everyone is doing something mechanical. We don't have a reception desk with a bowl of mints; usually, if you come by, you’ll find us in our overalls covered in some kind of grit. We handle the work as it comes in, sometimes staying late if a machine needs fixing or a big deadline is looming. The floor is concrete and stained from years of use, and the fans overhead just move the warm air around during the summer months in Ahmedabad. It’s practical work for people who need things built or repaired without any fuss. We just keep our heads down and focus on the steel. There’s no big corporate philosophy here, just a lot of manual labor, heavy machinery, and long days.
