Omkar Engineering

You can find us over near the Rathi Rice Mill, not far from the S P Ring Road. Being close to the ring road means there is always a lot of noise from the trucks going past, but we got used to it a long time ago. Omkar Engineering is a small operation, mostly focused on the metal parts and repair work that comes our way. The floor is made of thick concrete and is covered in scratches from moving heavy machinery around. We have a few lathes and a drill press that have seen better days but still get the job done right. The smell of cutting oil and metal shavings is pretty much stuck in our clothes. There is a small metal bench outside where we sit for lunch when the weather is nice. Sometimes the dust from the rice mill blows over, but it’s not too bad. We keep our tools on a pegboard that we built ourselves to keep things from getting lost. It’s not a showroom by any means. It’s a place where work gets done and hands get dirty. Most of our regulars just drop by without calling because they know we are usually here from eight to six. We just keep our heads down and focus on the machines. It’s a steady life and we aren't looking for anything more complicated than that for our shop.
