V. K. Bricks Factory

You can find V. K. Bricks Factory over at No. 9 Jvalin Chambers. We are right across from the Odhav Fire Station and near the Rabari Colony bus station. It’s a very active part of Odhav with a lot of heavy vehicles and buses moving around all day. Our work is centered on making and moving bricks. It is a dusty and dirty job, and there is no way around that when you are dealing with clay and kilns. Most of our time is spent out where the bricks are being handled, checking the quality and making sure they are stacked properly for the trucks. The fire station across the way is a good landmark, and we hear their sirens quite often. It’s hot work, especially during the summer months when the sun is beating down on the yard. We don’t have a polished office with fancy furniture. Our place is practical and built for the kind of work we do. We have a small group of workers who know the process well. We spend our days coordinating with drivers and making sure we have enough stock ready for whoever needs it. It’s a simple, honest business. We don't do much more than make bricks and get them out the door. My hands are usually stained red from the material by the time I finish for the day.
