Micro Engineering Works

Micro Engineering Works is at Plot No. 114 in G. V. M. M. Being in an industrial area like this means there is no such thing as a quiet morning. By eight o’clock, the whole street is awake. Our shop is a practical space where we deal with a lot of precision parts. Even though the name says "Micro," some of the equipment we use is actually quite heavy and takes up a lot of room. The floor is covered in fine metal shavings that we have to sweep up every few hours. We don’t have a fancy cooling system, just a few big ceiling fans that move the hot air around. It’s the kind of place where you know exactly where every wrench and gauge is kept because you’ve used them a thousand times. There’s a small sink in the back where we wash the oil off our hands before lunch. We don’t have a marketing department or a sales team. It’s just us at the benches, looking at specs and making sure things fit together like they should. Some of the neighbors have been at G. V. M. M. as long as we have, so there’s a bit of a community feel among the shops. We don't worry about being polished. We just want to make sure the work leaving Plot 114 is done right so we don't have to do it twice.
