Archana Engineering Works

Archana Engineering Works shares a similar spot at Plot No. L-54 in GIDC, tucked away right behind the old water tank and near the telephone exchange. Having the exchange nearby is handy for giving directions because everyone knows where that is. Our workspace is pretty crowded with materials and old parts that we might need one day. It’s the kind of place where you have to watch your step so you don’t trip over a stray pipe or a toolbox. The lighting isn't the best in the back, so we use a lot of portable lamps to see what we are doing. It’s not a corporate office by any means. We have some plastic chairs for when a customer needs to wait, but they usually prefer to stand and watch the work. The air always has that faint smell of cutting oil and old metal. We’ve been in this spot for a long time, and the building has aged with us. The roof leaks a tiny bit when it rains really hard, so we have to move some of the machines around. It is just the reality of working in an older GIDC plot. We don't have a big staff, just a few reliable people who know how to handle the equipment. Most of our days are spent just getting through the queue of jobs that people drop off on their way to work.
