Nilakanth Engineering Works

Our factory is number 97 in the Rameshwar Industrial Estate. It’s over in Odhav, right near Jay Chemical and Krishna Park Society. Viratnagar is a busy spot for manufacturing. We’ve got a decent-sized space here. There’s a lot of metal work going on every day. You can hear the grinders from the moment you walk into the estate. We mostly make components for other machines. The floor is always busy with people moving materials around. We don’t have a fancy reception area. If you come to see us, you’ll probably find me at the back checking on the lathes. It’s a bit of a maze getting here with all the other factories packed together. We’ve been in this spot for about eight years. Before that, we had a smaller place. The heat in Odhav can be quite something in May, so we have big fans running all the time. They’re loud, but they help. We have a small crew of about twelve people. Some have been here since day one. We don't do much marketing, just some old-fashioned word of mouth. If a job is done right, the customer comes back, and that’s how we’ve kept going. We keep some spare parts in the racks near the entrance. It’s a practical place for practical work. We don’t have a website or a social media page. Most people find us because they saw our factory while going to Jay Chemical or they live in Krishna Park Society and need something fixed. The noise of Odhav is something you eventually stop noticing.
