You can find Niki Hydraulic & Fabrication over at 16 Chaitnya Industrial Estate. We are right opposite the big water tank on the Ahmedabad-Indore Highway. It is easy to spot because we are in the Bhavda Patiya area of Odhav, tucked behind the Royal Restaurant. The location is very industrial, so there are always heavy trucks rumbling past on the highway. Inside our unit, things are usually covered in a bit of grease and oil. That is just the nature of hydraulic work. We have different machines for fabrication and there is always someone hammering something or using a lathe. It gets quite dusty, and we have to clean the floors more than we would like. The heat from the machines and the highway traffic can make it a bit stuffy. Usually, we grab a quick lunch from one of the stalls nearby or just bring something from home. There is no air conditioning, just a few big fans that mostly just move the warm air around. We have been here for a while and know the other shop owners in the estate. We help each other out with tools sometimes. It is a busy environment and there is rarely a moment of complete silence. We keep busy with whatever jobs come in, mostly fixing parts or building small structures. By the end of the shift, we are all ready for a wash and some rest.
