Shiv Engineering is tucked away at Plot No. 184/a/8 in Phase 1 of the GIDC. It’s a bit of a maze back here, but we’ve made this spot our home. We started out with just one machine and a lot of hope, and now we’ve got a bit more than that. The workshop is always humming with the sound of lathes and grinders. We do a lot of precision work, which means we spend a lot of time squinting at blueprints and checking gauges. It’s not the kind of work you can rush. If you rush it, you ruin the part, and then you’ve wasted the morning. We’ve had some long nights when a deadline was tight, drinking coffee to stay awake. Our floor is always covered in metal shavings, no matter how much we sweep. That’s just the nature of engineering. We aren't big on meetings or long emails. We’d rather just stand around the workbench and figure out a problem together. It feels more natural that way. The guys here are good people who know their tools. We’ve seen the seasons change through the big open doors of the bay. Sometimes it’s freezing in the winter, and in the summer, we just keep the fans blowing full blast. We’re just a regular machine shop doing our best to get the specs right every single time.
