You can find us on Veeramamunivar Street in Kandan Chavadi, right at 225/58. The street is usually pretty cramped with traffic and delivery vans, especially in the mornings when everyone is trying to get to work. Inside our building, the plastic molding machines are almost always running. They make a rhythmic thumping sound that you eventually stop noticing after a few hours of being here. There is a specific smell of melting plastic that hangs in the air, which takes some getting used to if you aren't here every day. We spend a lot of time checking the molds and making sure the cooling water is flowing right. Sometimes a part gets stuck or the plastic doesn't flow correctly, and we have to stop everything to clear it out. It’s a bit of a puzzle sometimes. The boxes get stacked up high near the door, waiting for the truck to come by and pick them up for the local factories. We don't have a big corporate team, just a few of us who handle the shifts and keep the machines fed with raw pellets. Lunch is usually eaten quick on the small bench outside because there's always something to keep an eye on. It’s steady work, and we’ve been doing it this way for a while now without much fuss. The neighbors know us by the sound of the gates opening early in the morning and the forklift moving.
