Our office is right on the ground floor of Narayan Chambers, which is tucked just behind the Patang Hotel. It’s a busy little spot in the city. Since we are on the ground floor, people are always walking in and out, often looking for some help with their financial paperwork or asking about how things work with their accounts. It’s number 6 in the building, so it’s easy to find once you get into the lane behind the hotel. The hotel is a big landmark, so we usually just tell people to look for that. Inside, it’s mostly the sound of calculators, pens scratching on paper, and the occasional phone ringing. We don’t have any of those fancy modern couches; just some sturdy chairs for people to sit while we go over their documents. The lighting is a bit bright, and we have files stacked up because there is always something to process. It gets quite warm in the afternoons, so the fans are always on full blast. We see all kinds of people here, from shop owners to families, everyone just trying to get their money matters sorted out. It’s a lot of sitting and checking numbers, making sure everything adds up correctly. We don’t do anything flashy. It’s just a regular office where we show up, do the books, and help whoever walks through the door. The commute here can be a bit of a struggle with the city traffic, but we’ve been here long enough.
