Our workshop is at Plot No: 95 on Road No: 8 in the G.I.D.C Kathwada area. It’s easy to find because we are right opposite the big water tank. Most of the time, the yard is full of metal frames and parts waiting to be put together. It is a busy street with a lot of heavy vehicles moving back and forth. Inside, it is usually quite dark except for where the lights are directly over the machines. We spend the day assembling different parts and checking how things fit together. It is a lot of heavy lifting and sometimes the grease gets everywhere. We have a small office corner with an old desk where we keep all the papers. It’s nothing special, just a place to sit for a minute. The G.I.D.C area is always active, and you can hear the sounds of other workshops all day long. We start early to avoid the worst of the heat. Most of the guys here have been working with machines for a long time. We don't use much fancy talk around here. We just look at the drawings and get to work on the machines. There is always a lot of clanging and banging going on. If you come by, you’ll probably see us in the middle of a big project. That is just how Maruti Machines operates on Road No: 8.
