Maruti Founders & Engineers

Our workshop is at P. No. 3 in the Agreshan Estate. It’s on Adinathnagar Road, right near Chhotalal Chawl in Odhav. Maruti Founders & Engineers has been in this spot for a long time. It’s an industrial area, so there is always the sound of machinery and hammers hitting metal. It’s hot in the summer, especially with the furnaces and the engines running. We don’t have air conditioning in the main area, just some big industrial fans that move the hot air around. We work hard here. The floors are concrete and usually have some oil or metal shavings on them. We have a small corner for the drawings and the technical stuff, but most of the day is spent out on the floor. People in the neighboring units are all doing similar work, so there is a lot of noise. We know the tea stall guy near the chawl pretty well. It’s not a glamorous job. We wear work clothes and we don’t mind the grime. When someone comes to visit, they usually find us right in the middle of a project. We don't have a receptionist. You just walk in and look for one of us. Odhav is a busy place and being in Agreshan Estate keeps us right in the middle of the local industry. It’s honest work and we’ve been doing it this way for years. We just keep our heads down.
