Maruti Die Casting

Maruti Die Casting is over in Malav Estate, near the Nagarvel Hanuman temple in Amraivadi. It’s a well-known landmark, so people usually find us without too much trouble. Working in a die casting unit is hot and dirty work. We deal with melting metal and pouring it into molds all day. The furnace makes the whole place feel like an oven sometimes, especially in the Gujarat summer. Our unit isn't something you’d see in a magazine. The floor is covered in grit and there’s soot on the ceiling. But that’s just how this kind of work is. We’ve got a small team of guys who have been with us for a long time. They know the sounds the machines make when something isn't right. We don't have a big office or anyone in a suit. If you come by, you’ll find us on the floor working. We don't use a lot of fancy words or have big meetings about goals. We just look at the orders for the day and get to pouring the metal. Sometimes a mold breaks and we have to start over, which is frustrating, but we just get on with it. It’s a simple, hard-working life. We take our breaks under the tree outside to get away from the heat for a bit. It’s just what we do here in Amraivadi every day.
