Mark Engineers

Mark Engineers is based out of unit I-312/2 in Phase-2 of the G.I.D.C. Estate in Vatva. We’re right on H Road, which is a busy place full of other factories and trucks moving back and forth. Our workshop has been here for a good number of years. It’s a solid concrete building that stays relatively cool, though it gets dusty because of all the industrial activity nearby. We focus on basic engineering tasks and making parts for other businesses in the estate. We have a routine where we start the machines at eight in the morning and don't really stop until sunset. It’s noisy work, and the smell of grease is pretty much stuck in our clothes. We have a small table in the corner where we keep our tools and a teapot that’s always half-full. The guys working here are from the local area and they know the machines inside and out. We don't have a big sign out front or any shiny brochures. If you need something made, you just come to the gate on H Road and ask for us. Sometimes we have to wait for materials to arrive from the other side of the city, which can be frustrating, but we just find other things to do in the meantime. We don't spend money on fancy things. We just keep the machines running and try to do a decent job for whoever walks through the door.
