We’re set up in Dharmik Apartment, which is just a regular residential building near the Ghodasar Railway Crossing. It’s unit number two on the ground level. Being so close to the crossing means we hear the train whistles all day long. You get used to it after a week or two. Our neighbor is Ashopalav Apartment, so it’s a very local, lived-in feeling area. We turned the space into an engineering office, so instead of a living room, we have drafting tables and boxes of components. It’s a bit tight when we have a lot of projects going on at once. The walls have some marks from where we’ve moved heavy equipment around. We don’t have a big sign outside, just a small one by the door. Most of our work comes from word of mouth around Ahmedabad. We aren't big on corporate polish. We wear regular clothes and our desks are usually covered in sketches and tools. The kitchen is mostly used for storing spare parts and making the morning rounds of chai. Sometimes the trains cause a bit of a delay for our visitors, but that’s just life in Ghodasar. We like being here because it’s close to the heart of things without being in a sterile office park. It feels more like we’re part of the neighborhood, which is nice. We just focus on the engineering problems and ignore the noise of the crossing.
