Mangaldeep Engineering Co. is sitting at Plot No- 5/6. It is right near the Hanuman Mandir which is why there are always people walking around our area. We are part of the Aavishkar Shopping Centre on Surendra Mangaldas Road. Being near Nehru Nagar and Ambawadi means there is never a quiet moment. You can hear the temple bells sometimes when things get a bit still in the shop. The engineering work we do involves a lot of metal and heavy stuff. Our floors are usually covered in some kind of metal shavings or oil. It is just the way it is in this line of work. We have been in this spot for quite some time now and we have seen the shopping center change quite a bit over the years. The traffic on the road outside can be a real headache in the evenings. We usually just stay inside and keep working until the rush dies down a bit. It’s a practical space without any of those modern office decorations you see in the city. We have our tools and our machines and that is mostly it. People know us for being here and doing what we do. It is not a polished place but it is where we spend most of our lives. We have a small kettle for tea and some stools for when we need a break from standing all day. It takes a lot of effort to keep things running.
