Lucid Diamond is tucked away on the second floor of Nishtha Nivas. The house number is 6/1424 on Thobha Street. This is Mahidharpura, so you know it’s always crowded with people and scooters. It’s the kind of place where everyone knows everyone else’s business. We’ve been in this office for quite a bit. It’s not a fancy glass building. It’s an older place with a lot of character. We do our diamond work here every day except Sundays. There’s a tea stall around the corner that we go to twice a day. Our team is small, just a handful of guys who know how to grade stones. We don't have a marketing department or anyone to write fancy emails. We just answer the phone and talk to people. Sometimes the street gets so loud we have to shut the windows, even when it's hot. We’re not trying to impress anyone with a big lobby. We just have our work tables and some good lights. The stairs up to the second floor are a bit narrow, so watch your step. We’ve lived in Surat our whole lives, so we’re used to the pace here. We just want to do honest work and get home to our families. That’s how we’ve always run things at Lucid.
