Laxmi Textile Stores

Our shop is tucked away in the Punmaji Industrial Estate over in Dhobighat. Laxmi Textile Stores has been operating out of units 22 and 23 for years. Shahpur is a busy area, and it can be a real struggle to find parking sometimes. If you come by, you’ll see stacks of fabric and spare parts everywhere. It isn't a showroom; it's more of a working store where people from the local factories come to get what they need. The floors are a bit dusty from the lint, and the shelves are crowded. We spend most of our time helping customers find specific threads or machine parts that are hard to come by. My father used to run things differently, but now we just try to keep up with the demand. The air smells like raw cotton and old metal. It’s a loud place because of the surrounding workshops, but that’s just how it is in an industrial estate. We don't have a big sign or anything flashy. Most people know us by word of mouth or because they’ve been coming here since they were young. Sometimes we sit on the wooden stools out front when things quiet down for a bit. We don't use any fancy computer systems for everything; a lot of it is still written down in the big ledgers. It works for us. It’s a simple life, moving boxes and talking to the regulars who stop by for a chat.
