Khimraj J Mistry

My shop is Shop No. 2 in the Manglya Apartment building. We are right across from Akanksha Apartment and very close to the Sattadhar Over Bridge in Ghatlodiya. It is a convenient spot for people to find me. Most days you will find me, Khimraj J Mistry, surrounded by wood, tools, and a lot of sawdust. I have been working in this area for quite a while, helping folks with their furniture or fixing things around their homes. The shop isn't very big, so I have to be careful about where I put my saws and where the finished pieces go. Sometimes it is a bit of a puzzle to fit a new project inside. People usually just walk over from the nearby apartments when they have something that needs a bit of work. I don't use any fancy computer programs to design things. I usually just draw it out on a scrap of wood or a piece of paper so we can agree on how it should look. It is a one-man kind of operation mostly, though sometimes I have a bit of help when a job is too heavy for me to lift alone. I like the smell of the wood and the feeling of finishing a piece that looks right. It is just me in the shop, doing the work I know how to do, day in and day out.
