Jilani Foods

We are located behind Usha Cinema in Gomtipur. It’s an area that everyone around here knows because of the theater, so finding us isn't usually too hard for people. At Jilani Foods, we spend our days around ingredients and orders. The kitchen area gets quite warm in the afternoons, especially when the sun hits the back wall. We have been working out of this spot for some time now. It is a bit loud outside with the traffic and the crowds near the cinema, but inside we just focus on what needs to be cooked or packed. We aren't a big factory or anything like that. It’s mostly just us doing the prep work and making sure everything tastes right before it goes out. Sometimes we run out of space for the crates, so we have to shuffle things around a lot. It’s a bit of a puzzle every Tuesday when the supplies come in. The floors are concrete and the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but it’s a good place to work. We know the tea seller down the street by name because he comes by twice a day. There are no big signs with lights here, just our name on the door. We keep things simple because that's what works for us. Most of the people working here live nearby in Gomtipur, so we usually walk or bike to the shop. It’s just our small way of making a living in this part of town.
