Jayshakti Engineering Works

Jayshakti Engineering Works is located at Shop No. 9 in the Shrinathji Industrial Estate. We are right opposite Sarjan Estate, not far from the Kathvada Ring Road in the Odhav area. If you are driving on the ring road, it is pretty easy to miss the turn-off if you aren't looking for it. Our shop is one of those small industrial units where the grease is etched into the floor. We deal with a lot of metal work and mechanical repairs. The sound of the machines is constant from morning until evening. It is quite hot in the afternoon because the roof is just tin, but we have a few big fans to keep us from melting. We usually have several projects going on at once, so the floor is always cluttered with parts and tools. Sometimes a neighbor from one of the other shops will come by to borrow a wrench or just to chat for a few minutes. We don’t have much of an office, just a small table near the front where we keep the invoices and a bottle of water. It’s a straightforward way of working. We take the jobs as they come, fix what needs fixing, and move on to the next one. It’s not a clean environment, and our clothes usually end up ruined by the end of the week, but that is the nature of engineering work in a place like Odhav.
