Jay Ambe Engineering Co.

Jay Ambe Engineering Co. is located at units 1 and 2 in the Jay Laxmi Industrial Estate. We are inside the Cmc Compound over in Gidc Odhav. It’s a heavy industrial area, so there is always the sound of machines and metal hitting metal. We’ve been operating out of these two units for years now. It’s a family-run kind of thing, and we do a lot of the engineering work ourselves. The workshop is usually a bit of a mess with grease and metal shavings, but we know where everything is. We don't have a front office with a receptionist. Usually, if you walk in, you’ll just see one of us under a machine or working a lathe. We take on all kinds of repair jobs and custom work for other businesses in the Gidc. It’s not the kind of job where you wear a suit. We wear overalls and get our hands dirty every single day. Sometimes the power goes out in the estate and we have to stop for a bit, but we always catch up. We don’t do any fancy brochures or websites. People just know us from around the compound. If someone needs a part fixed or a tool made, they come to us. We’ve built up a decent reputation just by being here and doing the work. It’s a practical way to make a living and we don't plan on changing how we do things.
