J. U. Mistry & Sons

We are based in Bapunagar, right behind the State Bank of India branch. It is a busy part of Ahmedabad, especially with the Muni Industrial Estate so close by. J. U. Mistry & Sons is a family name, and it has been that way for a long time. My father worked here, and now we are the ones keeping the place going every day. The workshop is usually a bit dusty because of all the work happening, but that is just how it is in this line of business. We don't wear suits or sit in air-conditioned offices all day. Mostly, we are on the floor, checking on the machines or talking to the workers. You can hear the sounds of the industrial estate from our front door. It’s a lot of metal and hard work. Being near the bank makes it easy for people to find us, though the traffic in Bapunagar can be quite something during the rush hours. We don’t have a big marketing department or anyone to write fancy letters for us. We just write down what needs to be done on our pads and get to it. Sometimes we stay late when a job isn’t finished, but that’s just part of the routine. We know most of the other shop owners around here, so it feels like a small village inside a big city. We just keep doing what we know how to do.
