Our workshop is over at No. 32 in the Devraj Industrial Park. If you know the Piplaj - Pirana Road, you know it’s a heavy industrial area. J-Pack Engineers has been tucked away here for a bit. We spend our time putting together packaging machines. There’s always the smell of grease and the sound of welding going on in the back. It’s not a quiet place, but that’s what happens when you’re building heavy equipment. The office is just a small corner partitioned off so we can hear ourselves talk. We don’t do big fancy presentations. We usually just show people the machines while they’re half-finished so they can see how the rollers and belts actually fit together. It gets pretty hot under the tin roof in the summer months, but we have a few big fans that keep the air moving. Our guys have grease on their shirts by ten in the morning. We focus on making things that won’t break down after a week of hard use. It’s a lot of manual work, fitting parts and testing the tension on the wrapping units. Sometimes a design doesn't work the first time, so we have to take it apart and try again. It's just how engineering goes. We take our time with the assembly because rushing leads to mistakes. Most people find us through word of mouth around the park. It's just a regular local business making machines.
