J K Scrap Traders is over at 6 Shree Ram Estate. It’s right on Gujarat Bottling Road in Rakhial. If you look across the street, you’ll see Jagannath Estate. Our place is usually filled with piles of metal and old bits of machinery. It’s not the cleanest business, but it’s what we do. Dealing with scrap means you’re always getting your hands dirty and moving heavy stuff around. We’ve been in Rakhial for a while now. The area is always dusty because of all the trucks moving in and out of the estates. We don’t have a front office with chairs or anything like that. Usually, we’re just standing around the yard or sitting on a plastic stool by the entrance. People bring us all sorts of things they don’t need anymore. Sometimes it’s just old pipes, other times it’s big pieces of iron from a factory closing down. We weigh it all out on the big scale we have. There isn’t much to say about us that isn’t obvious when you walk in. We don’t do any advertising. Most people just find us because they live or work around Gujarat Bottling Road. It’s a straightforward business. We buy what people don’t want and we sort it out for whatever comes next. It’s loud and messy, but J K Scrap Traders has been our life for years now. We just keep at it, day after day, through the heat and the rain.
