Harikrishna Enterprise

We run Harikrishna Enterprise over in the Dariapur area. Our place is at number 52, Rupapari, which is right across from the Futi Masjid. This is a very old part of the city, so the lanes are narrow and they can get incredibly crowded with people, carts, and scooters throughout the day. Our shop is not very large, and it is usually packed from the floor all the way to the ceiling with all the different items we trade in. Sometimes it feels like there is barely enough room for two people to stand inside at once, but we have our own system for finding where everything is tucked away. We have been here for many years, so we know almost all the other shopkeepers and families around the mosque. There is a lot of history in these streets, and we like being a small part of the community. We do not use any fancy marketing tricks or have a big corporate office. Most of our business comes from people just walking past or folks who have known us for a long time. The mornings are usually the busiest time when everyone is opening up their shops. We spend a lot of our day just talking with customers and making sure they find what they are looking for. It is not a polished life, and we have to deal with the heat and the noise, but it is home for us. We just keep things simple and honest.
