H R Plastic industries is over at Kailash Estate Part-1, right along the Sardar Patel Ring Rd in Odhav. If you know the area, you know it’s a lot of warehouses and factories, and ours is one of them at number 8. Inside, it is usually quite warm because the machines that melt the plastic give off a lot of heat. You get used to the smell of warm resin after being here for an hour, but visitors usually notice it right away. We spend our time making different plastic items, and there is always a bit of scrap lying around that needs to be recycled back into the process. The Ring Road outside is always jammed with trucks, so getting stuff in and out takes a bit of timing. We are a small outfit, and most of us have been working together for a long time. We don't have a marketing department or anyone to write fancy speeches. If you come by, you’ll probably find the owner on the floor checking a mold or talking to one of the guys about a machine setting. We just take orders and try to get them finished without any major hiccups. Some days are smoother than others, but we always manage to get the crates loaded onto the trucks by the end of the shift.
