Gujarat State Cooperative Marketing Federation Limited(GUJCOMASOL)

Our office is at 49, Shrimali Society, right across from Navarangpura. People know us as GUJCOMASOL, but that’s a long name for the Gujarat State Cooperative Marketing Federation Limited. It sounds very official and big, but when you come inside, it’s just a lot of desks and people talking on phones. We deal with farmers and seeds and fertilizers across the whole state. Navarangpura is a hectic area, so getting to the office in the morning is always a bit of a struggle with the traffic. Inside, it’s usually quiet until the phones start ringing. We spend a lot of time looking at spreadsheets and talking to different districts. It’s a cooperative, so it’s about everyone working together, which sounds nice, but it’s actually a lot of coordination and making sure trucks are where they should be. Sometimes the weather ruins the plans, or a shipment gets stuck somewhere, and we have to scramble. The building is older, and you can tell by the way the doors creak. We have stacks of files from years ago because we haven't gone fully digital yet. It’s a bit old-fashioned, but it works for us. We eat our lunch in the small breakroom and complain about the heat like everyone else. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s important for the farming community, and we’ve been doing it from this spot for a long time now.
