We operate out of units 19 to 21 in the Ajanta Commercial Centre. It’s located on Ashram Road, right across from the Vidhyapith and near the Income Tax office. Since we’re a federation for brick manufacturers, our office is often a meeting point for people in the industry. It’s not a factory; it’s more of a place where we handle the administrative side of things and talk about the challenges facing the brick kilns. The office has an old-school feel to it, with heavy desks and lots of files stacked up in the corners. We’ve been here for a long time, and the walls could probably tell a lot of stories about the industry changes we’ve seen. It’s a busy area of town, so there’s always something happening right outside. We get a lot of visitors coming in to discuss various issues or just to catch up on news. The air conditioning works most of the time, but we usually keep the windows open if the weather is even slightly decent. We aren't a big corporation with lots of departments; it’s just a few of us managing the day-to-day affairs. We spend a lot of time on the phone or sitting around the main conference table with tea. It’s a practical, no-nonsense environment where we focus on the needs of our members. We don’t have any fancy decorations, just some photos of different sites and a few awards on the wall. It’s just our home base for the work we do.
