Survey No. 320 on Odhav Road is where we spend most of our daylight hours. It’s an industrial patch, so there’s always a bit of dust and the sound of trucks gear-shifting nearby. Inside Eltromat (India) Pvt. Ltd., things are usually busy in a quiet way. We’ve got our desks and the workshop area set up just how we like them over the years. Some of us have been coming here for a long time, and we know the shortcuts to avoid the morning traffic. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but they hold up the roof and that's what matters. We deal with technical stuff mostly. It's not glamorous work, but it pays the bills and keeps our hands occupied. During the summers, the overhead fans do their best, though sometimes they just move the hot air around. We usually take our lunch together around 1:00 PM. Someone brings extra pickles, and we talk about whatever was on the news or just how the commute was that morning. When a visitor comes to Survey No. 320, they might get a bit lost looking for the right gate because the signs around here aren't always the clearest. But once they find us, there’s usually a cup of tea waiting. It’s just a regular place where people show up, do their jobs, and head home to their families when the sun goes down. Nothing too fancy about it. We keep the old records in metal cabinets that squeak every time you open them.
