Our place is tucked away in New Vadaj, right behind Rachna School. If you know where the Rupi Party Plot is, we are very close to that in Akbharnagar. Making edgebanding for tables and cabinets is what keeps us busy all day. It is a messy process involving heat and plastic resins, but the job gets done. From the outside, the workshop doesn't look like much. Inside, you will find rolls of different colors piled high on metal racks. Because our old machines make so much noise, shouting is usually necessary to be heard. Checking the thickness of the strips and matching colors takes up most of our time. This isn't a glamorous business at all. Dealing with dust and the smell of melting plastic is just part of the routine after a week or two. Sometimes the neighbor's kids from the school walk past and peek through the door. Traffic in this area becomes a real headache when school lets out. We try to get our deliveries out early to avoid getting blocked in. Our small group works hard in this little corner of Ahmedabad. It is honest work and we do not pretend it is anything fancy. The hours are long, but seeing the finished rolls ready to go out makes it feel worth it. We are just a local business trying to keep things moving.
