Textile Engineering Works

You can find us at A/2 Jk Estate, right on Dudheswar Road. We are directly opposite Ravi Estate, which makes it easy for people to spot the building. This area is always full of traffic and people moving fabric around. Inside our place, it’s mostly old machinery and rows of spare parts for looms. We spend our mornings fixing gearboxes or looking for specific bolts that someone needs for their textile mill. The walls are a bit stained from years of work, and there is always a layer of lint in the air. Textile Engineering Works doesn't have a computer system for our inventory; we just know where the parts are kept on the high shelves. It is a bit of a maze sometimes. We get a lot of walk-in customers from the nearby factories who need something repaired quickly so they don't lose a day of work. We just do the repairs and hand over the invoice. There isn't any corporate talk here, just talk about thread counts and machine speeds. Sometimes we sit on the old stools and talk to the regulars while the tea gets cold. It is a noisy, dusty life, but it’s what we know. We’ve seen many businesses come and go on this road, but we stay right here in our corner of Jk Estate. We usually close up once the sun starts setting and the traffic dies down.
