Dipesh Engineering Works

We are tucked away in unit 11/12 of Subhash Estate on Ramol Road. This part of C.T.M. is very industrial and there is always a layer of grit on the windows. Our workshop is basically two large rooms filled with heavy machinery and stacks of raw steel. The ceiling is made of corrugated tin, so it gets very loud when it rains. We spend most of our hours bent over lathes or checking measurements with old calipers. My clothes always have a few holes in them from the sparks that fly during the day. We don't have any air conditioning, just some windows that look out onto the estate road. You can hear the hum of other factories all around us. We keep a big water earthen pot in the corner for everyone to drink from. The paperwork is kept in an old metal filing cabinet that squeaks every time you open it. Most of our regulars know to come to the side entrance because the main one is often blocked by a delivery truck. We aren't big on decorations, so the walls are just bare brick and some old calendars. It is a place for grit and hard labor. We start our machines around eight and don't stop them until late evening. It is tiring work but we have been doing it this way for years. We like the routine of the estate.
