Conquest Engineering

Our workshop is located at 101-102, right opposite the Hcg Hospital. We are near the Sola Flyover on the S.G. Highway, so the location is pretty easy to describe to people over the phone. Conquest Engineering is usually full of the sound of machines running throughout the day. It gets quite loud, especially in the afternoons when everyone is working at once. We have to shout a bit to be heard over the noise sometimes. The S.G. Highway is always packed with cars and trucks, and we watch the traffic from the front entrance when we take a short breather. Being near the flyover means there is a lot of dust that settles on the equipment, so we are always wiping things down with old rags. The space inside is mostly taken up by big benches and tools. We don't have much in the way of decoration. There are some old calendars on the wall and a small area in the corner where we keep our lunch boxes. It is a practical setup for the kind of engineering work we handle every day. Sometimes the power goes out and everything goes silent, which feels really strange for a few minutes. Then the generator kicks in and we get back to it. Most of the guys here have been working together for years. We know the routines and who likes their tea with extra sugar. It’s a busy life here near the hospital, and there is always something that needs fixing or making.
