Bhagyalakshmi Bricks

Our place is over in Sabarmati, specifically in Tulshinagar on Ramnagar Road. It’s a busy spot with plenty of activity throughout the day. We deal with bricks, so things are pretty straightforward here. We have an office area where we handle the orders and the logistics of getting bricks to different construction sites. It’s a bit of a dusty business, so the office isn’t exactly what you would call pristine. We have piles of ledgers and a few old computers that still work well enough for what we need to do. The noise from the road is constant, but we’ve grown used to it over the years. We work with a lot of local builders and people fixing up their own houses. It’s mostly about getting the right amount of bricks to the right place at the right time. We don’t use any complicated software, just a lot of hand-written lists and notes. Sometimes we lose a pen or a notebook, but we find it eventually. The staff is just a few local folks who know the trade well. We drink a lot of tea and stay on top of the deliveries as they come in. It’s not a glamorous life, but it’s what we know how to do. We’ve been part of the Sabarmati community for a while and like being here. People know where to find us if they need materials for a project. We keep it simple.
