Asha Tex Engineers

Asha Tex Engineers is located at 19, Shreeji Prakash Society. We’re right opposite the Vahanvati Ro-House in Baliya Vas, Amraiwadi. It’s a bit of a residential area mixed with small businesses. We work on textile machinery. Since we’re in Amraiwadi, there’s a lot of history with textiles around here. We fix parts, adjust settings on looms, and sometimes make replacement pieces when something old finally gives out. Our workshop is part of the society, so we try not to be too loud, but engineering work always makes some noise. We have drawers full of bolts, springs, and small gears. A lot of our day is spent looking at a machine that isn't working right and trying to figure out which small part is the problem. It takes a lot of patience and greasy fingers. We’re not a big corporation. It’s just a few of us who know our way around a textile plant. We talk to the local mill owners and the small operators who need their machines running to make a living. Sometimes we have to go out to their sites, but a lot of the smaller repairs happen right here at number 19. We have tea together in the afternoon and talk about the jobs. It’s a quiet, steady kind of business. We don’t have big slogans. We just know how to make the machines run again so the fabric keeps moving.
