Aniket Garlic & Onion Co.

The business is run out of 21 Shri Nand Residency near Nobal Nagar in Nana Chiloda. We handle a lot of garlic and onions every single day. If you walk into the space, you can definitely tell what we sell because the smell is quite strong. It’s just how it is with fresh produce. We spend most of the morning checking the condition of the bags coming in from the farmers. Some bags are better than others, and we have to sort through them by hand mostly. It’s a lot of manual work and your hands get pretty dirty. The floors are usually covered in those thin purple and white skins that fall off the onions. We try to sweep up but it just piles back up again ten minutes later. Nana Chiloda is a busy enough area and we have trucks pulling up at odd hours to load things. Sometimes the traffic makes it hard for the drivers to park. We have a small desk for the paperwork but most of the time is spent on our feet. It’s not a polished operation, just a warehouse-style setup where we keep things moving. We don't have fancy signs or anything like that. People who need garlic or onions in bulk know where we are. It’s a bit of a grind but it is honest work. Anyway, we stay busy and that is all we really want.
